Lubricant for hot forging: FAQs
- How should the recovered liquid be managed?
- The recovered liquid contains a large amount of oil and sludge. Remove these and then manage the concentration with a refractometer.
- What methods are there for reducing mold deposits?
- Either change to a low deposition type lubricant, or adjust the dilution to the appropriate ratio.
- What methods are there to solve underfill problems?
- Use a product with better lubricating performance to improve the formability. This problem is also sometimes solved by changing to a product with less deposition.
- What problems occur when the lubricant dilution factor is too low?
- Mold deposits may occur and cause underfill problems, or deposition may cause operation failure on the peripheral equipment around the forging equipment.
- What problems occur when the lubricant dilution factor is too high?
- The separation of the product from the mold will deteriorate and sticking and underfill can occur. Also, a load must be applied to remove the product from the mold, so the product produced may be distorted.
